About you
About Heathrow Expansion Question 2:
Heathrow has long been at the heart of the UK’s global connectivity, enabling trade, supporting business and linking people across the world. As a critical driver of growth, trade and investment, the Government has expressed clear support for its expansion.
About Heathrow West Question 3:
Heathrow West will introduce competition into the Heathrow monopoly. Competition will drive innovation in the design of new infrastructure - forcing any developer to find ways to reduce cost and delivery time, and enhance the overall quality of their proposal.
Please explain your reasons
Question 4:
Heathrow West’s vision for the expansion of Heathrow Airport is underpinned by the following principles:
minimising environmental and construction impacts and land use
putting passengers and their experience at the heart of design
delivering choice, efficiency and affordability through competition
supporting job opportunities, skills development and local communities
creating a sustainable, future-ready airport
leaving a positive legacy for the UK both economically and socially.
Please explain your reasons
Question 5:
The proposals for Heathrow West include a phased approach to development of a new runway. We are currently planning for a 2,400m runway, which could be expanded to 3,500 m in the future if needed.
Please explain your reasons
Question 6:
The proposals for Heathrow West include a new Terminal 6 to the west of Terminal 5. It has been carefully planned to minimise land requirement and enhance efficiency by having all terminal infrastructure in one location, as opposed to having a main terminal and a supporting smaller terminal near the runway as proposed by Heathrow Airport Limited.
Please explain your reasons
Question 7:
Heathrow West has the potential to deliver a range of benefits when compared to alternative proposals for expansion at Heathrow. These include reduced construction time and complexity, a better terminal location and design leading to improved passenger experience, lower costs for airlines and passengers and minimising environmental impacts?
Which possible benefits of Heathrow West, if any, are most important to you?
Question 8:
As with any proposal to expand Heathrow Airport, Heathrow West could impact the local environment, including impacts on traffic, air quality, noise, wildlife and habitats, and climate change.
Please choose the TOP THREE factors important to you when it comes to designing and operating a new terminal facility at an expanded Heathrow?
Question 9: Is there anything else you would like us to consider as we develop our proposals? Please provide details below.
